Board Meeting MINUTES
October 20th, 2008
Crossroads
Church 6 PM
- Call To Order: 6:31 pm by Allan Hahn.
- Members Present: All present.
- Secretary’s Report: Deb motioned to accept the report and Corrine
2nd. All in favor.
- Treasurer’s Report: Corrine will report on everything next month. Taxes
are next month. Eric mentioned putting together a budget for the future.
- Old Business
- Pictures: Picture were taken of the coaches and board for bulletin
board. Pictures for February were not discussed.
Tabled.
- Board Member Schedule to cover Ice Schedule: October 26 – Lynn, Corrine, Kurt, Nikki, Allan, and Deb. October 30 – Lynn, Nikki, Julie, Deb, and Allan.
November 2 – Allan, Julie, Corrine, and Lynn. November 6 –
Lynn, Nikki, Allan, and Deb. November 9 – Lynn, Julie, Eric, Allan, and
Deb. November 13 – Corrine, Nikki, Allan, and Deb. November 16 – Eric, Corrine, Lynn, Allan, and Deb.
- Punch Cards: Tabled.
- Skate Swap: Comments? We could have another during a Basic night,
where there is more traffic of people. We will not do the first night of skating. Perhaps in November. Tabled.
- Purchase a Silverblades Sign (Outdoor Banner): Eric will talk with
Tim Kennedy about the banner, as well as gather costs for different sizes.
- Theft: Wheelchair taken from the Rec. Center:
Allan mentioned cost of replacement chair. Tabled.
- Coaching Fees for Ice Show Practices: Coaches had their input and
board discussed, but tabled.
- Student Coach Training: The board agreed that uniform training is needed.
Should there be a clinic?
- Coaches: All the coaches were present for signing their contracts
and discussing the ice show as well as fees for ice show lessons.
- By-Laws: We discussed the rough draft changes of the by-laws in terms
of how long we have waited on passing them! We revisited the by-law about
only a parent or guardian of a skater can be a board member. Discussed and tabled.
- Gun Raffle: Eric shared costs for raffle ($2490) as well as costs
of tickets – hoping for a profit of $2500 for the Silverblades. He feels
this would benefit the parents since the money would be put towards costumes or something else the parents usually have to
pay for. Tabled.
