  • Call To Order: Allan called the meeting to order at 7:04 pm.
  • Members Present:  All present.
  • Secretary’s Report:  Julie motioned to accept.  Deb 2nd.  All in favor.
  • Treasurer’s Report: IRS amount owed is now $0 (letter sent to Corrine).  At the end of August, checking was at $5537.80 and CD was at $7274.20.  Current checking is at $8650, with registration deposits planned for 10/1.  Deb motioned to accept report.  Kurt 2nd.  All in favor.
  • Old Business
    • Pictures:
    • Board Member Schedule to cover Ice Schedule: October is set:  10/23 – Lynn, Julie, and Corrine.  10/26 – Lynn and Corrine.  10/30 – Lynn.  These are in addition to Allan and Deb.
    • Registration:  Many questions about punch card being just for basic skaters.  We will revisit punch cards – tabled for now.
  • New Business
    • Results of Ice Show Theme Voting:  30 votes for Children’s Music (Disney/Pixar).  Let’s decide on an ice show title at our next meeting.
    • Position Open:  We currently have 78 skaters registered.  10% of that means 8 board members is acceptable.  We will, however, post opening on bulletin board.
    • Donation to Hockey: $250 toward hockey’s sound system upgrade – it will have an Ipod docking station.  We will write off as a donation.  Deb motioned to donate $250 to hockey toward the sound system upgrade.  Eric 2nd.  All in favor.
    • Skate Swap: Second Thursday of October from 6:30-7:30?  Nikki will contact Guy Otte to check availability of facilities.
    • St. Paul’s Craft Show?  October 11th – not going to do, but Lynn will be there to sell some items on a friend’s table.
      • Purchase a Silverblades Sign (Outdoor Banner):  Tabled.
    • Theft:  Wheelchair taken from the Rec. Center – Tabled.
    • Coaching Fees for Ice Show Practices:  Should we have one set amount?  Tabled.
    • Student Coaching Training:  Chris Penno volunteered last year to watch over student coaches and offer guidance.  Some didn’t like this approach.  Allan will look into any student coach training conferences coming up.
    • Coaches:  Inviting coached to next meeting to sign contracts.
    • Christmas Gift Bags:  Kurt motioned to spend $6 per bag maximum for 78 skaters.  Corrine 2nd.  All in favor.
    • By-Laws:  This needs to get done with needed revisions.  Kurt and Eric are on committee.  Julie will email everyone the by-laws rough draft.
    • Ice Show Requirements:  Must be a member, having registered by 11/1 of the season.  Being in the ice show is a perk from participating in lessons.  Corrine motioned that a member can join Silverblades at any time, but are not allowed to be in ice show if membership wasn’t paid in full by 11/1.  Lynn 2nd.  All in favor.
    • Gun Raffle:  This could help pay for specific items, such as costumes.  Tabled.
  • Public Comments:
  • Next board meeting: October 20th at Crossroads Church at 6 PM (Coaches to meet at 6:30)
  • Adjourn: Deb motioned to adjourn.  Julie 2nd. All in favor.
