1.      Lynn Made motion to accept December 16th meeting       minutes w/ correction Chuck 2nd.

New Business

·       Meeting Guests- Brad, Melanie, and Erick.

·       Melanie would like the minutes up on the board in the rec. center. And on the website. It was discussed that the names would have to be left out for privacy issues along with the website.

·       Brad wants to know why are younger kids out skating during freestyle. And Basic 8 groups don’t have privileges of the extra ice.  Brad would like the parents to get the ½ sheet of ice.  Also the coaches are not keeping control of their skaters on the ice. Basics can’t be out on the ice when the freestyle is. It is a safety issue.  Same issues as last month.

·       Eric discussed the need for the board to be more “friendly” A He said “that people think we’re scary”. And unapproachable. There needs to be more interaction. And we “just stand in our own little huddle” Lynn, reminded him. “ We have had the mentoring program which did not go over.( there were parents who have been in the club a longer time to keep in touch but, those new people just didn’t call back) We have our news letters. Held a hot chocolate question and answer. The website, ect.”  So as we try, new ideas are always welcome.

·       Kurt has again stated that he has talked to the coaches on a few different occasions. And that the coaches will have to show a schedule for who will be on the ice and when. And now it is an issue. Someone will have to keep watch.  Basics will be allowed on the ice on Sunday as long as they are with their coach.  He also said that a monitor w/ sign in and out will have to be in the thinking.

·        Coaches Update: A few coaches not showing up for the group lessons. Kendra is doing a great job with her group of 15. A coach is taking on to many in group lessons, so that the ice has too many younger kids on at a time. And the skaters are allowed to skate on the ice before and after their lesson, on Sunday. This is causing problems with a few freestyle families.

·       Fundraising: still waiting for some money to come in from area businesses. Letters were sent out to those who have to pay the requirement yet. A few checks came back with discrepancies, and those were taken care of.

·        Advertising:  Things are going good.

·       Costumes: Deb excused

·       Prop/ Decorations:  Items needed was discussed to put it on the website.

·       Video: Woller Video is getting 40.00/ hour. Will do 2 on Saturday (if needed). There where many “bad” DVD’s   Allan will talk to him and get a signed contract. Will talk about replacement of any bad DVD’s.

·       Walk on skater. Janelle’s student would like to join so she can skate in Verona and has to be registered with a club and USFS.  She will pay 8/session would be cheaper than paying for the whole year. Since we’re so late in the season. There will be on ice time after Badger State, anyway. She is a high school girl Chuck made Motion for her to pay 7.50 for reg. and we charge her 8.00/ walk on fee for each time. Allan 2nd it. Board approved it.

·        We are still in the process of accepting nominations for new board members. But, the word is out.

·       Next years sign up will be August 26th 2008 at 6:00-8:00p.m for freestyle. And September 9th 2008 6:00-8:00pm. For basic. Both at the High School Cafeteria. Will have an orientation meeting, starting at 6:00pm. For new comers.

·        By laws will not be read yet.

·       Next Board meeting is February 20th Crossroads Church

·       Lynn made motion to adjourn board meeting, Chuck 2nd. Board approved.
