Board Meeting Minutes

Al called meeting to order: 6:42 p.m.

Secretary's Report: Corry, motion to accept, Eric 2nd accept

Treasurer's Report: $9,129.75 checking, not in a CD @ River Valley. Having a regular savings account was better than CD account. Stay with River Valley. $7,375 in savings. How much should be left in checking? $3,500. Put $5,000 in a one year CD. Rest in money market, there is no penalty to take out.
Julie motioned to accept treasurer’s report.

Committee Updates
Pro Liaison - Julie. Coaches would like
to come to a meeting. Julie sent out e-mail with some questions...if interested. Need to find out who may be interested in student coaching. Find out how many registered skaters there are to determine how may student coaches we may need.
Lori to send letter to a member. asking for payment for $63.32 costume last year.
Registration meeting to be mandatory. Are
the coaches needed at Freestyle meeting? They are at Basics. Need checklist of what needs to be covered at meeting. Invite
coaches to one or both of meetings.
Create a form and a timeframe in which student coaches need to hand in timesheet.
Julie would like a mini coaches clinic before starting first night of lessons. Need uniformity on progressing through levels.
How should this be communicated to the parents? It should be mandatory
to fill out report cards...Basic Evaluation Form & Attendance Record Sheet. Get
sample sheets for coaches to follow.
Ice Schedule Al - If had Beyond
High Group lessons, who would coach? Advantages to becoming a full club, benefits,
disadvantages, etc.
Eliminate Beyond High group lessons. Freestyle
spelled out...1 thru 6.
Basics = $85
Freestyle 1 thru 6 = $145 1 hr $205 if want 2 hrs (both plus 1/2 hr group lesson)
Beyond = $130 2 hrs/wk no group lesson
Shelly made motion to keep rates as above, every skater gets free long sleeve t-shirt
at registration, Corry 2nd all in favor.
Go with schedule that Julie put together - Cori motion to accept, Brad 2nd, all in
favor.
Fundraising - Eric suggested doing a raffle - grand price 2 motorized scooters
About 20 tickets to be sold per family
